A New Kind of Master: Pokemon Master
Chapter 33: A Ho-Oh Home
Written by: MayumiPezKujo

"His gym challenge can wait." Wolfgang said. "The darkness of this world is already becoming strong. We need to move quickly." Wolfgang turned around.

"Ah, I see." Morty said, I guess after making an observation. "This has to do about the prophecy of the universe."

I turned to him. "How much do you know about it?" I asked.

Morty shook his head. "It's a blur to me." He said. "I probably know just as much as you do, if that much even. Are you going to try to call the legendary bird?"

"That's the plan." Wolfgang said, and pulled me along as we all exited the gym. Wolfgang led the way to Bell Tower. We opened the doors and walked up the several levels of the tower. After all of the walking I was getting tired of climbing the stairs. We finally reached the top level and headed out to the roof.

"So this is it?" I asked, looking out at the rest of Ecruteak City from the top of the building. The scenery sure was beautiful up here.

"Yeah, this is it." Wolfgang said, taking a seat up against the pillar of the tower.

"How are we supposed to call for the legendary bird?" I asked.

"Well, I guess you just need to have the feather that Balthier gave you earlier and Ho-Oh should come if he finds you to be worthy." Wolfgang said, pulling one knee up to his chest and resting his arm on it.

I looked out at the sky for a majestic looking bird, but failed to see anything. I turned back to Wolfgang. "And if he doesn't find me to be worthy?" I asked.

Wolfgang smiled. "I find you worthy," He said. "And trust me, if I find you worthy, anyone will find you worthy."

My spirits was lifted by that comment, but I still wasn't sure about the bird coming. If the bird didn't come, then how would we get back home to Deity? I looked out at the sky again, mostly in the direction of the sun. That's when I saw it. It was a big beautiful bird Pokemon that was primarily red colored, but had rainbow colored wings. It's tail was yellow and he had a white underbelly. "I knew you were the one." Wolfgang said.

The big bird flew overhead and came next to me, floating by me and Eric on on the tower. Wolfgang stood up from his spot by the pillar and came to join us. "Ho-Oh," He said to the bird. "We need your help to get these kids to Hanuel. The fate of the universe relies on it."

Ho-Oh shifted to allow me and Eric to climb onto it's back. "What about you?" I asked Wolfgang.

"I'll meet you there." Wolfgang said. "Balthier should be there already."

I nodded and Ho-Oh flew off into the sky. I had never been to the land of the heavens before, but I bet that it was going to be a beautiful place. I was mostly looking forward to going home and seeing all of my brothers again. It had been so long since I last saw them.

It was kind of scary to be on Ho-Oh like this, since it was my first time being in the air at all. Anytime I had rode on animals back at home, it was always land animals or sea animals. I had never rode on any of the giant birds, phoenixes or dragons through the air, so this was a first time experience for me.

Eventually, we were flying really high. I could see the figure of a large island coming into view. It was so high up that you weren't even able to see if from the ground. Ho-Oh flew over to the floating island and flew above it allowing for us to jump off. It was a soft landing on the ground. I rose up and looked around. It pretty much looked like what you would expect a heavenly place to look like. It was a big city full of beautifully made buildings. The place here was pretty lively.

Axe was still on my shoulder and Eric was following. I looked around to see if I could spot Balthier anywhere. That's when he came up to us. "What took you so long?" He asked. Wolfgang was with him, already. I wondered how Vampires had the ability to travel so fast. I bet if I could travel like that, I would be done with this journey by now.

"We took the long way." I said, sarcastically.

"Well, come now." Balthier said, walking toward a towering building. "We need to hurry."

Me and Eric followed along behind the two vampires, looking around at the beautiful architecture of Hanuel, trying to take the sights in. This place was obviously one that was not being covered over by darkness, but I couldn't imagine that the beauty would be affected, even if it was.

Balthier walked into the clock tower and the doors opened up for us. There were many machines in here, but I didn't know what they were yet. "This is how we will get to Deity." Balthier said. "This is called Clockwork Hall, for some reason. This is the place in Hanuel that allows you to travel over several different world. It's very high tech and more convenient than the ripple method in Underland."

The two vampires walked into a booth that had a machine attached to it and motioned for me and Eric to follow and we did so. Balthier closed the door behind us and punched in some buttons. "You will want to hold onto the railing, because this moves very fast." Balthier warned us.

I obeyed and instantly grabbed onto the railing and Eric did the same. The booth that we were in started to shake and you could feel it moving very quickly. It came to a stop after a few minutes, and it was a surprisingly gentle stop for how quickly it was moving. "And we are here." Balthier said, opening the door to the booth, revealing the Clockwork Hall again.

Wolfgang turned to look at me as we exited from the transporter. "Bet you didn't think returning home would be so easy, did you?" He asked.

We left from Clockwork Hall and Balthier led us to a place where we could borrow a phoenix. They had these here for people who needed one and that were already in Hanuel. "We will meet you at the bottom." Balthier said, as the phoenix flew off.

~~*~~

We jumped down from the phoenix, just outside of the walls of the Mascadia Kingdom. We couldn't land inside due to the fact that is protected by a magical barrier to prevent intruders.

I looked around at the scenery and was instantly relieved that I was back home. I missed the big stone wall that surrounded the entire kingdom and protected us from intruders. I missed the sakura trees that were all around the kingdom and the beautiful animals that existed here. I looked over at Eric who seemed to be amazed by the beauty of Deity. I remembered that this was his first time seeing creatures that weren't Pokemon. I knew the feeling, remembering how weird it was the first time I saw a Pokemon.

"This is your home?" Eric asked while watching a Griffin chase a small rabbit for it's prey. These are the beautiful creatures that existed in my home that the Pokemon world didn't have. Don't get me wrong, though, I thought Pokemon were equally amazing.

"That's right." I said, turning back to look at the gate. It never was a pretty sight if the predator got what it was going for, but it was life. I wondered where Balthier and Wolfgang would be meeting us at. Hopefully it was somewhere near my house because it would be a pain to have to look for them in this huge kingdom.

I walked up to the front of the gate where the guard was standing. I knew that I would have no problem getting into the kingdom, being part of the line of royalty and this being my home. The guard's face lit up as soon as he saw me. "PEZ!" He said, placing his hands on my shoulder. "It's really you?" He asked, looking me over.

"It is." I said, smilig.

"Everyone in the kingdom was so worried." The guard said. "Where have you been?"

I kind of shrugged my shoulders, not really wanting to explain the whole situation to the guard. "It's a long story."

That's when the guard took note to Axe and Eric. "And who are these?" He asked. "A human…and a…?" He seemed stumped as to what Axe was.

"Sneasle." Axe said.

"Their my friends." I informed him. "This is Eric, from a place called New Bark Town and this Axe from a place called Goldenrod City."

"I see," The guard nodded. "And where in the world are these places?"

I shook my head and laughed a little at his obliviousness. "It's actually not in this world." I told him. "Their from a different world."

"So you've traveled the universe?" The guard seemed skeptical, but kept looking at Axe, which I could tell was making him uncomfortable. "Well, I guess your strange friend here is proof enough." That's when he turned around to open the gates, allowing us inside the kingdom. "You should hurry home. You're mom's been worried about you."

"Thank you!" I called to the guard as he closed the gates behind us. "Now, we get to see my home." I said, smiling. It really was good to be back my planet and walk the earth of Deity again, even if it was only going to be for a little while, I was glad to be back.
