Chapter Two: Challenges Along the Way

Tsunami was ready to fight the Sandile. She was already made angry that he had hurt Trick. Trick now had four cuts on his back where Sandile had grabbed him. "Okay Tsunami, if you say so." I said.

Tsunami stood in front of the Sandile. I was about to give her a command, but she was already angry. She let out a burst of water from her mouth and flooded the Sandile with it. I knew that Sandile was a ground type Pokemon making him weak against water, but Tsunami's attacks didn't do that much to him. He shook the water off.

Sandile started charging toward Tsunami, but she jumped out of the way and sliced him again with her shell. This time it was a direct hit and she hit him pretty hard. This actually did some damage to the Sandile. The Sandile had become mad now, he obviously didn't like being in the loosing spot. I had to take control of Tsunami.

Sandile dug into the earth and hid. I knew that he would try to attack Tusnami from underneath, but I couldn't let that happen. "Tsunami! Use water gun in the hole." I said.

Tsunami ran up to the hole and used Water Gun in it. She sprayed the water. I was planning on her surrounding the Sandile in the water and it worked. Sandile dug his way back out of the hole and was covered in water. Sandile moved slowly toward Tsunami. "Focus Energy!" I said. The Sandile was obviously getting worn out from the battle.

Tsunami stayed and focused. When the Sandile got ready to attack, that's when I gave the command of Razor Shell again. Tsunami used Razor Shell and hit the Sandile. The Sandile laid on the ground. Tsunami jumped and was really happy. She then came up to me and grabbed a pokeball. She threw the pokeball at the Sandile and it wobble around on the ground. When it started showing signs that Sandile could pop open, Tsunami ran and tried to hold it shut. Finally the red flashing light went off and the Sandile was caught.

Tsunami was proud of herself for being able to catch the Sandile. She picked the ball up and started to bring it to me, but then she stopped. She looked at it with a devilish smile and threw the Pokemon out. "Osha, osha, Oshawott." She said doing some hand motions.

The Sandile turned his head away. "Osha!?" She was surprised that, after she proved her strength to the Sandile, that he didn't want to listen to her.

The Sandile walked towards Trick, who scooted next to Train. The Sandile seemed like he was trying to apologize and be friendly. Tsunami was mad that the Pokemon didn't listen to her so she handed me the ball. I already picked out the name that I was going to give this Pokemon. "Kraken, return." I said

Kraken's body turned red and he came back into his ball. This Sandile seemed like a pretty tough Pokemon and I was glad that Tsunami had caught him. "Trick, I think you need to come back for now." Train pulled Trick back into the ball.

"Osha!?" Tsunami didn't want Trick to be returned.

"It's just until we get to the Pokemon Center." I assured her. "He is hurt from Kraken biting down on him." I knew now that he wasn't trying to be mean to Trick, he just wanted to be friends. Maybe Sandile tended to be rough when trying to friendly…or maybe it was just Kraken.

"Now, we need to get to the Pokemon Center." Train said. "Besides, I'm starving!" His stomach growled. I laughed.

"Did you not eat before we left?" I asked him.

"No, I did." He told me. "I just get hungry a lot."

We hurried on to the next city. Accumula Town was the closes town, so that is where we stopped. I was looking forward to making it to Striaton City so that we could challenge the Gym Leaders. "Kraken just needs a rest and I will get Trick bandaged up right away." Nurse Joy assured us.

The Pink Pokemon Center Pokemon came out. It was one of the ugliest Pokemon I have ever seen. I just didn't like it, but I knew they were good Pokemon. I pulled out my Pokedex to get the information on this weird Pokemon. I knew they existed, but I've never been into a Pokemon Center before, so I've never seen one in real life. "Audino, the Hearing Pokemon. It touches others with the feelers on its ears, using the sound of their heartbeats to tell how they are feeling."

Just that bit of information made them a little bit too creepy for me. The Audino took the Pokemon away. Nurse Joy sat us at a table. It was just me, Train and Tsunami now, but when she brought the food the other Pokemon; Trick and Kraken; came with her.

Kraken crawled up in the booth and pushed Tsunami out of the way so that he could sit next to me. "Oshawott!" She pounded him with her fist, but it had no effect. I could tell that Tsunami and Kraken would probably be my two rivaling Pokemon.

Nurse Joy sat the food down and Tsunami didn't worry about Kraken anymore. She automatically started in on the food. Her and Trick were both big eaters along with Train. We finished our meals and were getting ready to leave the Pokemon Center. All of our Pokemon were still out of their balls.

"Good morning to the People of Accumula Town." There was a man standing on a big stage talking to the people of Accumula Town. "I am Getsis. Getsis of Team Plasma to be exact. Today, I have come here because I want to tell everyone something very important. What I want to tell is…Let's free our Pokemon."

Everybody in Accumula Town was surprised; as well as me and Train. Who the hell were they to tell us that we couldn't have our Pokemon? Ghetsis continued.  "We humans live together with Pokemon. We think that we coexist as partners that can rely on each other when necessary. But, is that really true? Have you ever thought, that only we humans believe that? Trainers command their Pokemon to do what they want. They force them to do hard work as co-workers. You can hear someone saying, 'that's not true,' right? What kind of expression does your Pokemon show when they accept an order? Please look carefully. Please remember back. Is this right everyone? To us humans, Pokemon are strange creatures with unknown potentials. They are noble creatures that we need to study more. Pokemon don't exist solely to serve our selfish desires. We people should promptly do something for these Pokemon. What could that be? That's right. It's releasing our Pokemon!"

The guy…Getsis, seemed to be getting excited. "Oh please." Train said and started to step forward, Trick was following him. "I don't think Pokemon have a problem with being our partners in battle or whatever else we may use them for. We all work together and take care of our Pokemon."

"Or, so that's what you think." Ghetsis countered. "Can you understand what your Pokemon is trying to tell you? Do you know when your Pokemon is feeling bad? I bet you would force them to battle even on a bad day."

I looked around and there were people actually listening to them and releasing their Pokemon. The guys who were just up making the speech had disappeared. Train came back. "Those stupid jerks." He said. "Why are they
trying to get Pokemon to leave their trainers?"

"I don't know." I replied. "But come on, let's go find them before they convince more people to release their Pokemon."

"Right!" Train said. He pulled Trick back into his Pokeball. He ran ahead of me and I went a separate way than him. I didn't know if we would be able to find these guy because I didn't know their method of traveling or fast they traveled. Tsunami and Kraken were still both out of their Pokeball with me, I didn't have any reason to pull them back because they didn't run slower than me.

There was a slash of the air in front of us and the dust flew up. When it cleared I could see that there was a trainer with Pidove and other Pokemon with him. He didn't have any of his Pokemon in their balls. The Pidove was flying ahead ready to fight. I started to pull out my Pokedex to check the information on the Pidove, but the trainer jumped down and grabbed my arm. "This is a Pokedex, right?" He said. "That's the reason for the Pokeball. This is the machine that caused my friends to be captured in Pokeballs."

It was official, this guy was a freak. I tried to pull my hand away. "Ember!" I heard Train's voice. Trick used ember on the guy. He let go of my arm.

"It's not nice to keep your Pokemon in Pokeballs. They get very limited movements in there." He said.

What was this guy talking about? We only had our Pokemon in the Pokeballs when we needed to. We let them get their free time out as much as they wanted it. "My name is N, of Team Plasma." He introduced himself. I wasn't about to give him my name.

I saw his Purrloin jump at me. She started to use Sucker Punch, but Kraken bit her. He held down and wouldn't let her go.

"Purrloin! Night Slash!" N commanded his Pokemon.

Purrloin used Night Slash and freed itself from Kraken's grip. "Tsunami, use Water Gun!" I commanded.

Tsunami shot a spray of water at Purrloin, but Purrloin jumped out of the way. Train saw the reflex of this Pokemon ahead of time and commanded Trick to use Ember on the Purrloin. Trick's Ember had actually attacked the Purrloin. Kraken looked at Trick and acted like he was trying to tell him something. Trick nodded and ran toward Kraken. Kraken dug underneath the ground and hit the Purrloin. Kraken jumped out of the way while the Purrloin was still in the air. Purrloin was falling. Trick used Ember in the hole that Kraken had dug. The embers hit the Purrloin.

"No, Purrloin!" N cried as his Purrloin fell to the ground.

Purrloin was no wimp and he got back up, easily, ready to continue the match.

Speech from Ghetsis is from the Pokemon Adventures Manga.

I am just getting used to the new english names. I still have my Pokemon Black in Japanese, and I haven't yet got white in Englihs, so I am still working on getting used to the English names of everything. If I messed up somewhere, sorry! >.<
